How we rate
Updated We read the operator paperwork
Nothing on this site is ranked by how it feels to us. A page gets written when there is paperwork to read, and an operator moves up or down a list when that paperwork says something different from what it said last time. This page is the procedure, so you can check whether a page followed it.

21+. Play only where your state regulator allows it. We take a commission from some operators; it never moves a room up the list. Gambling problem? Call the National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738).
Which document decides
Four kinds of document, read in this order, and the earlier one wins when they disagree:
- the state register and the notices of the regulator that issued the licence — in New Jersey the Division of Gaming Enforcement, in Pennsylvania the Gaming Control Board, and their counterparts in the other regulated states;
- the operator’s own binding text: terms and conditions, bonus rules, the cashier page, the responsible-gaming page;
- the law itself when a question turns on it — bill text, committee record, court filing;
- an official announcement of a launch, a closure, a licence transfer or a brand change.
A press release is a claim until one of the first two shows the same thing. A rival site is never a source.
What a place in a list is based on
The lists on this site compare what an operator has published about itself, and nothing else. Three things decide the order, in this order:
- A bonus offer published for US players — in the operator’s own bonus terms, with its wagering condition readable. An offer we cannot read in full does not count in favour of anybody.
- Payment routes that actually reach a US account — counted from the cashier page, not from a marketing page.
- Breadth of the product — whether poker, casino and sports sit on the same account, which is what makes a single deposit useful.
Where a list is headed “our pick”, that is the result of those three and the date it was last read against them — not a paid position and not a reader vote. There is nowhere to vote on this site, and a counter that cannot be voted on is a decoration.
What we do not do
- We do not claim to have opened accounts, deposited money or timed a withdrawal. Nothing here rests on a private session that no reader can check.
- We do not print a number, a date or a licence detail without a document behind it. No document, no field — the sentence is left out instead.
- We do not sell a place in a list, and no operator reads a page before it is published.
- We are not an operator: no bets, no deposits, no accounts and no customer service for anybody else.
What this site holds
Counted from the site itself on the day it was last rebuilt: 284 addresses served, of which 18 are posts written by the desk and 13 are operator files built from the documents above; 13 brands are compared in the lists; 22 states have their own section. The rest is kept reporting on the US market, at its original addresses.
When this procedure fails
It fails in public. A page that turns out to be wrong is corrected on the page, with the correction visible rather than quietly swapped in — the full rule is in the editorial policy, and the way the work is divided is on who writes the site. Write to [email protected] with the address and the document that shows it.
