Every site on this list is an offshore operator: none of them holds a licence from a US state regulator, and none of them is on a state’s own list of approved rooms — that is the trade a player makes for being able to open an account from a state with no legal site of its own. All of them take deposits from US players and all of them run in the browser. We are paid when you open an account through some of these links; it funds the checking and it does not move a brand up the list. 21+.

21+. Play only where your state regulator allows it. We take a commission from some operators; it never moves a room up the list. Gambling problem? Call the National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738).

DraftKings Sportsbook is the currently the only operator approved to offer online betting on sports in the state. Along with its mobile app, DraftKings has retail locations and a new office in NH. The retail sportsbooks are at The Brook (DraftKings Sportsbook at the Brook) and Filotimo Casino (DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester). Having secured what amounts to a monopoly via the RFP process, DraftKings shares 50% of its revenue with the state.

Unlike many other jurisdictions with legalized sports wagering, the legal betting age in New Hampshire is 18 years old.

New Hampshire online sports betting apps

DraftKings Sportsbook is the lone sports wagering option in New Hampshire. Regulators awarded the Boston-based company exclusive rights to operate the state’s only online/mobile sportsbook, exchanging competition for a larger share of the revenue.

DraftKings hopes go live in NH in January 2020.

New Hampshire sportsbooks 2026

New Hampshire has DraftKings retail sportsbooks, too. Several cities have approved the development of a land-based book. At the moment, the main retail sportsbooks are The Brook (DraftKings Sportsbook at the Brook) and Filotimo Casino (DraftKings Sportsbook at Manchester).

The enacted law imposes a cap of 10 retail sportsbooks for the small state.

NH sports betting law

The New Hampshire sports wagering law permits anyone 18 and older and located within the state to bet on sports. Residency is not a requirement, but bettors will need to share their location to verify that they’re physically present in NH. All regulated online sportsbooks employ geolocation technology.

The law also disallows certain individuals — including casino key employees, athletes, coaches, refs, and trainers — from wagering on sports.

Bettors are not permitted to wager on any in-state college teams, nor on any collegiate event that takes place within the state. Betting on local college teams then, like Dartmouth or the University of New Hampshire, is prohibited.

Likewise, NH sportsbooks may not take action on college games within the state — even involving non-NH teams. So if Concord was named an NCAA March Madness site, for example, those games would be off the board in NH.

NH sports betting market

The New Hampshire sports wagering market is one of the youngest in the US. Although there aren’t many professional teams within the state, NH is directly next to Massachusetts, which means there are plenty of pro sports fans around.

While the population of NH is much smaller than some other states with legal sports wagering — like New Jersey and Pennsylvania — it could still be a thriving market. None of its neighbor states allow betting on sports, so it will become the best legal option for traveling bettors from Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts.

Boston alone has more than half the population of NH, so the true market could be larger than it appears.

Signing up at a NH sportsbook

Creating a betting account on a NH sportsbook will be a quick and straightforward process. In order to sign up, you will likely need to provide the following standard information:

  • Name
  • Date of birth
  • Address
  • Email
  • Phone number
  • Social Security number

New customers need to create a username and password used to access the online sportsbook each time. Once you’ve answered a few security questions, confirmed your age, and agreed to the terms and conditions, you’re ready to wager.

Download the DraftKings app

The New Hampshire version of DraftKings Sportsbook is available for download to bettors with both Apple and Android devices.

Apple users

The DraftKings Sportsbook NH app is natively coded for iOS devices and available for download in the App Store.

Android users

Google Play hosts the app, and Android users can download the mobile app from the DraftKings website.

Live betting options at NH sportsbooks

Live wagering is one of the most popular ways to bet on sports online. Unlike bets placed prior to a game starting, live (or “in-play”) betting allows bettors to get money down

In other states, DraftKings Sportsbook offers a vast range of in-play options for just about every market available.

Standard bets like point spread, moneyline and totals are always available, along with alternate lines in some instances. Live betting typically includes a myriad of game, team, and player props, too.

Betting on pro sports teams in NH

Boston sports fans have been spoiled with success across all four major sports in the US — football, basketball, baseball and hockey.

  • NFL betting: The New England Patriots are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NFL. Their dynasty continues today as the Pats look to defend yet another Super Bowl title in 2020.
  • NBA betting: While the team has only won one title in recent years (2008), the Boston Celtics are among the greatest franchises in the NBA. They’re one of the better teams in the Eastern Conference this season and are constructed to make a playoff run.
  • MLB betting: After breaking their curse in 2004, the Boston Red Sox have done nothing but win. They’re one of the most popular MLB teams and will garner a lot of futures bets before the next year begins.
  • NHL betting: Another team that hasn’t had any issues performing of late is the Boston Bruins. The original-six NHL franchise fell just short of the Stanley Cup last season when they lost to the St. Louis Blues in seven games.

New Hampshire sports betting history

Sports betting could debut in New Hampshire as early as January 2020 with the launch of DraftKings Sportsbook. The former daily fantasy sports (DFS) company now runs one of the most profitable sports wagering enterprises in the US.

Online betting on sports became possible thanks to Gov. Chris Sununu, who nudged the legislature into action in 2019. He signed bill H 480 in July, allowing the New Hampshire Lottery to start the process of awarding licenses for sportsbooks.

DraftKings earned the nod by beating out several other retail and online sportsbook hopefuls. It received the highest scores out of all operators for both retail and mobile sports betting in the state’s analysis.

The future of online sports betting in NH

DraftKings is the only sportsbook available in New Hampshire for the foreseeable future. The company signed its contract with the state in late November 2019.

Although there were stipulations in place for how the revenue breakdown would change if other sportsbooks joined the market, it doesn’t appear like that will come into play anytime soon. It would be surprising, however, if NH never expanded from just one operator for every retail and online option.

If the state decides to increase the number of sports betting platforms, it could be with one of the companies that already submitted a proposal.
