Every site on this list is an offshore operator: none of them holds a licence from a US state regulator, and none of them is on a state’s own list of approved rooms — that is the trade a player makes for being able to open an account from a state with no legal site of its own. All of them take deposits from US players and all of them run in the browser. We are paid when you open an account through some of these links; it funds the checking and it does not move a brand up the list. 21+.
21+. Play only where your state regulator allows it. We take a commission from some operators; it never moves a room up the list. Gambling problem? Call the National Problem Gambling Helpline, 1-800-MY-RESET (1-800-697-3738).
Legal US Online Poker: Overview
Online poker is currently regulated in three US states: Nevada, New Jersey and Delaware.
New Jersey
The largest of the three regulated markets in the United States, NJ is home to several distinct online poker networks, including WSOP.com, Party / Borgata and AAPN.
Learn more about NJ online poker here.
Nevada
The second-largest state offering regulated online poker in the US, Nevada's regulated Internet poker space is dominated by WSOP.com and Ultimate Poker.
Nevada differs from NJ and DE in that Nevada only offers poker online - no casino games.
Delaware
Delaware is the smallest online poker market in the status quo, although a recently-signed liquidity agreement with Nevada should help to bolster numbers.
Delaware operates a single online poker room that all three authorized brands feed into.
States to watch
A handful of states, including California, Illinois, Iowa, Florida, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania are expected to consider online poker regulation in the next year.
